BEAVERTON, MI-- Mid Michigan College, with main campuses in Harrison and Mt. Pleasant, has donated thermoforming equipment to Beaverton Public Schools in an effort to support student training for local skilled trade careers.

College President Tim Hood says the equipment is valued at an estimated $200,000 and has been donated with the goal of getting more technology into the hands of high school students and supporting both schools in the region and local industry.

The donation will expand Beaverton’s STEM education program for 8th, 9th, and 10th graders, while also preparing students to begin local careers or pursue Advanced Integrated Manufacturing degrees.

Superintendent of Beaverton Community Schools, Joe Passalacqua, says the addition is the first step in ensuring local businesses have the skilled workforce they need to continue to operate and grow students have the skills they need to find fulfilling careers close to home.

Students interested in learning more about manufacturing-related careers and credentials can explore the college’s Advanced Integrated Manufacturing Pathways page.
